LESLIE D. FARRELL is an Emmy and Peabody-award-winning television writer/producer/director. In dramatic television, she produced Miracle’s Boys for Nickelodeon. Based on the Coretta Scott King Award-winning novel of the same name, the series won a WGA Award for Children's Script – Episodic & Specials.
As documentary writer, producer, and director she won an Emmy Award for Sports on the Silver Screen and a Peabody Award for Journey of the African American Athlete both for HBO, additionally she won Cable ACE Awards for both pictures. She is also known for the multi-award-winning independent historical-comedy documentary Electoral Dysfunction. Her other award-winning documentary films include Slavery and the Making of America, African American Lives, and Roadmap to Pearl Harbor, among others.
Additionally, her shows been awarded three Cine Golden Eagles, two DuPont-Columbia Awards, the Christopher Award, the Silver Angel Award and many others. Finally, in the unscripted space, Leslie has served as a network executive for Bravo, NBC/Universal where she oversaw such hits as The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Southern Charm, and Millionaire Matchmaker.
